Currently I have a full-time senior Patient and Public Involvement position at the University of Liverpool, based at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool. Jenny has worked with the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) in the UK for 14 years on numerous initiatives and projects. Her main role is to deliver a strategy for the involvement and engagement of children and young people and families in paediatric health research both in the UK, Europe, and Internationally.
Current projects include coordinating and facilitating a National Young Persons’ Advisory Group called GenerationR Alliance (www.generationr.org.uk), which has enabled 100’s of young people to have a voice in research design and delivery both in the UK and across the Globe; senior patient involvement lead on a six-year multidisciplinary public-private initiative conect4children (c4c), which is a large collaborative paediatric network that will facilitate the development of new drugs and other therapies for the entire paediatric population in Europe; co-founder of a European Young Person’s Advisory Group Network (eYPAGnet) to empower young people and families across Europe to contribute to paediatric health research; patient involvement and engagement Executive Lead for the NIHR Children and Young People MedTech Co-operative (CYPMedTech) to advance medical technologies for children and young people.
