About the organization
Mission : We provide a strong voice and concerted effort to promote the social, economic and environmental well being of people living with arthritis. We communicate with all levels of government to make positive changes to health policies. We maintain formal and informal networks, initiate or participate in committees and partnerships with other organizations to better enable us to negotiate on behalf of people living with arthritis - and we talk to our neighbors.
Vision : The Canadian Arthritis Patient Alliance (CAPA) is a grass-root, patient-driven, independent, national advocacy organization with members across Canada and supporters both Canadian and International. CAPA believes the first expert on arthritis is the individual who has the disease, theirs is a unique perspective. We assist members to become advocates not only for themselves but all people with arthritis.
CAPA facilitates links between Canadians with arthritis and their support systems through collaboration and partnerships with other organizations, representatives from all levels of government, researchers, and other individuals to help achieve CAPA's strategic priorities. The organization communicates the latest news on health policy issues, research, technology and emerging issues relevant to members through its website and Facebook pages.
