Patient and Medical Affairs Consultant
I will listen to people facing or living with a health challenge to understand their needs and perspectives. I will continue to spend time with them to learn from them. When consulted as physician, I will spend more time listening than talking. Also in my other roles I will seek their perspective and input before selecting, developing and delivering. When listening, I will seek to listen actively beyond the purely physical or medical dimension.

I will co-decide on the therapeutic approach with the people who consult me as physician, taking into account their perspectives and needs beyond the purely physical or medical. I will also work with people facing or living with a health challenge when selecting, developing and delivering my contributions as consultant and advisor or employee.

Through feedback I will make sure that any explanations given to or therapy agreed with people who consult me is in fact understood by them. In the same way I will make sure that they understand the reason behind any suggestions that I make. When writing or presenting I will use understandable language by ensuring patient and layperson input and feedback. Last but not least, I will continue to be a vocal and passionate advocate for patient engagement and for patient focused medicines development on issues that matter to people facing or living with a health challenge.
