Geraldine is the global lead for patient engagement establishing a new department within Gilead Sciences in March 2020 to systematically bring the voice of the patient into the organisation. Her remit covers Inclusion and Diversity of patient voice, education and training on good practice within patient engagement. Her vision for patient engagement at Gilead is ‘A diverse patient voice, everywhere, every day’
2018 – 2020 Executive Director Medical Affairs External Communications and Programs, establishing best practices for engagement with medical societies, medical education and development of an award recognised tool to assess medical education programs from.
2010 – 2018 HIV Director Medical Affairs based in the EMEA Headquarters in the therapy area lead, supporting HIV in Europe, Australia, Middle East and Canada.
During this time developing award winning CME initiatives including The Voice, HIV and the Body, YOUR Body. She also developed and led Hepatology Perspectives and the anti-fungal CARE programs. She was responsible for Advisory programs, company symposia. She has been actively involved in research and published extensively.
Prior to joining the pharmaceutical Industry, Geraldine worked at Chelsea and Westminster hospital for 10 years in the HIV Directorate as a clinical nurse lead, developing strategies for patient management and discharge processes. For the last three year she was directorate manager for the HIV Trust and Volunteer services. Geraldine has been part of the UK Governments HIV advisory group, UK Prison educationalist and held an honorary lecturer position at Riverside Faculty of Health.
Geraldine is a Registered General Nurse, Registered District Nurse and HIV Specialist Nurse with over 25 years HIV experience.
